Amigo Volo (Father Patrick) extended his harness racing winning streak to four Preferreds in a row at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Monday (Apr. 8) in his first start since February.
The gelding went all the way from post eight in the $36,000 contest with Tyler Borth at the lines. He cut :27.1, :57.1, and 1:26 panels with 2023 Goodtimes winner Southwind Coors (Chris Christoforou) waiting in the pocket.
The field traveled single-file around the last turn, and it became a two-horse battle down the stretch with Southwind Coors emerging to take on the leader. The challenger narrowed the gap all the way to the wire, but Amigo Volo had enough to reach home a winner by a half-length in 1:52.4.
Looks Like Moni (James MacDonald) passed horses late for third. The winner paid $8.50.
