CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Driver David Dowling and trainer Jennifer Doyle have been a near unstoppable harness racing team in 2024 and they will look for more success in the Saturday afternoon top class at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The capital oval has a 12-dash presentation starting at 12:30 P.M., with the $3,700 Fillies and Mares Preferred hitting the track in race 11.
The Doyle trained Shake N Blake (Hes Watching) provided a mild upset at 4-1 odds in last week’s Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace, and will be saddle with post 6 this week for driver Dowling and owner Danny Birt of Earnscliffe. The four-year-old has been hitting the top-three every week with 11 victories in 2024.
Sugar Bowl (To be driven by Gilles Barrieau) has post 4 in the Fillies and Mares Preferred field after falling short as the post time favourite last week from the Jeff Holmes stable.
Rail control goes to Redlandbethanyjean (Brodie MacPhee) after making her last start Oct. 26 in the Atlantic Aged Pacing Mares final for trainer Tom Weatherbie.
Rosetown Mary (Corey MacPherson) leaves from post 2 while Acefortyfour Dome (Jason Hughes) is the post 3 starter from the Ashley Gamester barn. Tobins Brownie (Marc Campbell) has post 5 in her first pari-mutuel start since Sept. 19 for new trainer Earl Watts.
The Post Time Picks go with Shake N Blake.
“Shake N Blake scooted up the passing lane to finish second by a neck two starts back and won from off-the-pace in her latest. She looks like she has their number so I’m putting her on top.”
The $3,200 top trot lines up in race 7 with Fight Song (Hughes) the 5-2 morning line favourite over post 3 starter Curadh (Ryan Desroche) and New Legacy (Dowling) with post 6.

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The Brendan Curran trained High Voltage Deo (Sweet Lou) will headline the Sunday afternoon program at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The 13-dash card has a 12:30 P.M., first race post time.
The $4,500 Preferred Pace lines up in race 12 of the Sunday afternoon card with High Voltage Deo (TO be driven by Corey MacPherson) the top selection from post 5 for trainer Curran and owners Alby Curran and High Voltage Deo Group of Alberry Plains. The four-year-old has a win and two seconds in his last three starts.
Bee Two Bee (Jason Hughes) captured this class last week for trainer Ashley Gamester and has post 1 on Sunday. The co-holder of the Red Shores Charlottetown track record is a five-time winner in 2024.
Wind Blown (Paul Langille) has post 2 from the Phil Sizer barn with four wins and five seconds from 15 seasonal starts.
Rollwithhottytoddy (Myles Heffernan Sr.) will make his first start since the $50,000 Premier’s Cup on Oct. 13 for Trevor Hicken.
Roll Em (Marc Campbell) hails from the Brent Campbell barn and will be saddled with post 4 on Sunday after being in the mix in this class all season long.
The Post Time Picks will take 4-1 morning line entry Wind Blown on top.
“Wind Blown has been battling tough posts the past couple of weeks and missed the board both times. Now he draws inside and Langille will be gunning from the word go so get ready for him to flip the script in the feature.”
The $3,650 back-up class is in race 9 with Blood Money (Gilles Barrieau) the top selection over Malignity (Langille) and Time To Dance (Marc Campbell).
