CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The final photo was in Acefortyfour Dome’s (Up The Credit) favour in the Tuesday evening top harness racing event at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Acefortyfour Dome and trainer-driver Jason Hughes went to the lead in the $3,200 Fillies and Mares Preferred pace and held on in a photo finish of 1:54.4 over Dreamfair Zenfire (Driven by Marc Campbell) with Ms Moyse (Adam Merner) third. Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge owns the winning mare.
David Dowling drove winners at every point of the special Tuesday evening program with a grand slam on the night.
Dowling opened up the program winning with Dancers Pass (1:59.2) for trainer Phil Kelly, followed by a race 4 win with Magical Cowgirl (1:57.2) from the Colin Johnson barn and a race 10 win with Black Elektra (1:57.1) for trainer Jeff Holmes. Dowling and Johnson reunited in the race 12 finale to win with Miami Seelster (1:56.4) for the Springvale driver’s fourth win.
Holmes had two training wins on the night as Gilles Barrieau steered Victory Now to a maiden trot victory in race 2 of 2:01.4.
Freddie (Majestic Son) captured the $2,800 Open trot in 1:58.3 for trainer-driver Campbell and owner Three Wisemen Stable of Kingston for the 10-year-old’s 78th lifetime win.
The Ron Matheson barn also made two trips to the winner’s circle with Mc Patricia Bea (1:59.2) in line to Campbell and Outrageous Style (1:58.1) for driver Barrieau.
Live racing continues Friday evening (June 24) at Red Shores Summerside and Saturday evening (June 25) at Red Shores Charlottetown with 6:30 P.M. opening post times for both programs.
