As if shot from cannon, Dream Nation trotted away from the field in mid-stretch to capture the $20,000 harness racing feature trot at Woodbine Mohawk Park Monday evening.
The 10th race saw Free Willy Hanover and driver Jody Jamieson leave from post seven and take command with Buck Dancer (Jonathan Drury) also leaving from post ten and grabbing the two-hole spot.
Going to the opening quarter mile in :28, Free Willy Hanover then gave way to a determined Derf Hanover (Doug McNair), who took the field past the half mile in :57.1.
It was in the backstretch that Drury came back with Buck Dancer first-over and that gave Dream Nation and driver Scott Young live second-over cover as the field reached the three-quarters in 1:26.4.
As they started down the stretch, Young took Dream Nation to the outside and the trotter blew by the field and drew off to win going away by four lengths in 1:55.2. Locatelli (James Macdonald) had followed Dream Nation and closed well to be second with Free Willy Hanover third.
