East Coast domination continues for Save America

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The East Coast domination continued for Save America (Captaintreacherous) on the Saturday afternoon program at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Under the command of Ken Murphy in the $5,500 Preferred Pace, Save America ($2.20) blasted to the lead at a 26.2 opening panel and led through splits of 54.2 and 1:22.4. The five-year-old son of Captaintreacherous scored an eight-and-three-quarter length victory in 1:51 flat to defeat Blood Money (Driven by Gilles Barrieau) and Middleton Terror (David Dowling). SAVE AMERICA REPLAY

Veteran horseman Kenny Arsenault scored a training and driving double on the day to give him win number 1,000 of his illustrious career as a trainer. Jack Wick ($27.90) got the party started for the 65-year-old Charlottetown horseman with a 1:58 win in race 1, then Hippyjohn ($27.00) delivered the milestone win in race 9 with a 1:56 first-over bid.

Rockin Novel ($4.50) and driver Marc Campbell were the best in the race 6 Provincial Credit Union with a 1:56.2 victory for trainer Roy Reynolds and owner Reynolds Racing of Murray River.

Trainer Adam Merner doubled on the card as he drove Sports Teller ($5.90) to a 1:53.3 score in race 11 then Pendleton Rodeo ($2.80) won the finale in 1:54.4.
