A pair of harness racing finals will take place on Saturday (May 4) at Century Downs. In race six, four-year-old mares will battle for $45,000 in the Bev Sears Memorial. There was no need for eliminations, so the eight mares headed straight into the finals.
The morning line favourite, Outlawabovernbeyond (Captive Audience) draws the rail and will look to remain perfect this year. She has won four straight races to start 2023 and her latest win was in 1:55.2. The Rodney Starkewski-trained mare has won eight races in her career and has earned over $36,000 in prize money.Ā

The next morning line favourite at 3-1 is Riskofthunderstorm (Captive Audience) and will come out of post position three. She has only one win this year in six starts and she paced the mile in 1:57.2. It was her fourth career win, and she now has over $42,000 in career earnings. David Kelly trains Riskofthunderstorm and Collin Kelly will be in the bike.
RISKOFTHUNDERSTORM REPLAY
The Gerry Hudon-trained, Handcuffed (Captive Audience) started the new year off hot and won three straight at Century Mile. She didnāt have the best start last time out and finished fifth. Handcuffed has a lifetime mark of 1:56.4 which came at Century Mile earlier this year and will need a similar performance to win this weekend. She comes into the race at 6-1 odds and will have Phillip Giesbrecht in the bike.

The four-year colt & geldings have their chance in the $30,00 Ed Tracy Final a few races later in the ninth. Eliminations were needed last weekend as 11 pacers needed to get dwindled to nine.
The first elimination was won by the David Kelly trained, Yru So Sirus (Captive Audience). He went wire-to-wire in 1:56.1 for his second win of the year and his sixth lifetime. He has over $33,000 and a lifetime mark of 1:54.1. Yru So Sirius will come from post position three and opens at 5-2 morning line odds.

The other elimination winner, Up Yer Kilt (Mystician), opens as the morning line favourite at 2-1. He won last week in 1:56 for his third win of the year. He has eight career wins and has earned over $45,000 in prize money. The Rodney Hennessy-trained pacer has a lifetime mark of 1:54.3. He has finished in the top three five of his eight starts this year and will come from post two.
