Scene A Magician rolled back the years on Monday (May 16) at The Raceway at Western Fair District as the eight-year-old captured the Preferred 2&3 Trot and matched a lifetime mark he set in his second career harness racing win as a two-year-old.

Scene A Magician in prior win

Garrett Rooney capitalized on inside positioning and hustled Scene A Magician to the front. The Daylon Magician gelding got away with :28.2, :59, and 1:28 splits as he led the group of six. Willyorwonthe (Anthony Haughan) attempted a rally from the pocket, but he made no impact on Scene A Magician, who sealed the victory in 1:57.2. Willyorwonthe was a length and a quarter short but well clear of third-place finisher Bastiano (David Boughton).

SCENE A MAGICIAN REPLAY

Jennifer Pinkerton trains and owns the $3.70 winner. Scene A Magician is now 25-for-116 lifetime with $307,201 in earnings.

Also on the card, Presidential Ball remained unbeaten in three starts after debuting as a six-year-old in April. The son of Art Major led at ever call in the second race for driver Travis Henry. Ashley Lendvoy trains the stallion for Gino Toscani of Mount Hope.

The Raceway at Western Fair District is back on Tuesday, May 17 with an 11-race program that includes three Preferred events.
