Scene A Magician rolled back the years on Monday (May 16) at The Raceway at Western Fair District as the eight-year-old captured the Preferred 2&3 Trot and matched a lifetime mark he set in his second career harness racing win as a two-year-old.
Garrett Rooney capitalized on inside positioning and hustled Scene A Magician to the front. The Daylon Magician gelding got away with :28.2, :59, and 1:28 splits as he led the group of six. Willyorwonthe (Anthony Haughan) attempted a rally from the pocket, but he made no impact on Scene A Magician, who sealed the victory in 1:57.2. Willyorwonthe was a length and a quarter short but well clear of third-place finisher Bastiano (David Boughton).
