Eleventh win of 2023 for three-year-old

Oh Coffee Bean (Western Terror) tallied his 11th win of the harness racing season in another wire-to-wire performance at Flamboro Downs on Wednesday (Nov. 8).

The colt, seeking his fourth win in five starts, went directly to the front for Travis Henry and led the field of six without challenge through first-half panels of :28.4 and :59.3. Abc (Austin Sorrie) made the first move entering the backstretch, advancing to within a pair of lengths from the leader at three-quarters in 1:29.1.

Oh Coffee Bean contained the challenger’s charge to two-and-a-half lengths away and pulled clear around the final turn. Pocket-tripper Reach Out (Travis Cullen) backed down in the stretch, and Abc treaded water as Oh Coffee Bean rolled to victory in 1:59.1.

R U Talkin (Samuel Fillion) passed the former two for place. Abc held third.

Oh Coffee Bean is now 11-for-24 lifetime and has collected $33,398 in cheques. The colt, trained by Isaac Waxman, has won four of his past five with a place finish in the single loss. Tess Waxman of Ridgeville, Carmelo Scime of Caledonia, and Jeff Jordan of Windsor own the three-year-old.

The next card at Flamboro Downs is set for Thursday, Nov. 9 with a first post of 6:35 p.m. EST.
