Harness racing trainer Travis Ellis sent out the winners of both Lady Crocus divisions for Canadian-owned or -bred three-year-old pacing fillies as part of a six-win day at Miami Fair on Saturday (Jul. 30).
Jks Lifesaver (Jk Endofanera) gave reinsman Blake Piwniuk his second of five wins on the day in the opening division, prevailing in a battle with second-place finisher Sassy Libby (Donald Howlett) to score by a length in 2:00.3. Automagically (Dean Rey) was well back in third.
The ownership group of Adam Mace, Timothy Gordon, and Brett Earle acquired Jks Lifesaver in May after she made her first four career starts at Hoosier Park. She broke her maiden in her first visit to Miami on Jul. 23. Her record is now two-for-six with $10,735 in earnings.
Hallelujah Chorus (Vertical Horizon) cut the mile in the second group to earn her first lifetime victory in 2:01.2 with Howlett aboard. Perpetual (Piwniuk) was five lengths adrift in second. This Girl Rules (Rey) took the show cheque.
Hallelujah Chorus finished fourth after breaking stride in her debut at Miami fair on Jul. 9. She was then second in back-to-back weeks before Saturdayās outing. Earle owns the filly.
Ellis combined with Piwniuk to win with Irish Melvin (Mystery Chase, 2:02), Cartiere (Hes Watching, 1:59.1), Mystic Dragon (Mystician, 2:00.1), and Two To Ten (Mystery Chase, 1:59.1).
Racing resumes at Miami Fair on Saturday, Aug. 6 at 2:00 p.m. CDT.
