Ervin Hanover (Captaintreacherous) made it back-to-back harness racing victories as he stepped up to the $36,000 Preferred Pace at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Saturday (Nov. 9).
The stallion sat fifth for Doug McNair through a :27 opening panel and awaited cover, pulling out behind Taurasi (Doug McNair) approaching the half in :55.2. The outer two advanced little through three-quarters in 1:23.1, and leader Fortify (Tyler Borth) held a solid lead to the top of the stretch.
Ervin Hanover peeled off McNairās helmet as they straightened for home and kicked into high gear at the eighth pole. He blew by his opponents, out-kicking Taurasi by two-and-three-quarter-lengths to score in 1:49.3.
Taurasi was second-best, followed by Powertrain (James MacDonald).
