Double Ontario Sires Stakes Super Final champion Fashion Frenzie (Archangel) stayed unbeaten at four with a comfortable harness racing victory in the Open Handicap Trot on Monday (Jul. 18) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Louis-Philippe Roy tucked the gelding in behind Pikachu Hanover (James MacDonald) on the way to the quarter in :27 and promptly commanded a move to the front just past that point. Fashion Frenzie carried his six opponents to the half in :56 and three-quarters in 1:24.1.
Patriarch Hanover (Doug McNair) sprinted up first-over in the third panel and was nearly level with the leader before Fashion Frenzie kicked clear at headstretch and thundered home to victory in a career-best 1:51.4.
Patriarch Hanover finished two-and-a-half lengths back in second for a Richard Moreau-trained exactor. Pikachu Hanover trailed him by another half-length in third.
FASHION FRENZIE REPLAY
Fashion Frenzie is now perfect through two starts this season following a conditioned win on Jul. 4. The gelding won his divisionās Ontario Sires Stakes Super Final in both years of eligibility at two and three, as well as the Goodtimes Final. He is 13-for-21 lifetime and has earned $761,935. The Becancour-based Ecurie Francis Richard, Pierre Guillemette, and Sylvain Richard co-own him with Mario Bourgea of Stanbridge East.
The drivers replicated their finishing order in the finale when Captain Video (Captaintreacherous, Roy) captured the Pop-Up Series Final by a narrow margin over Hesincontrol (McNair). The former grabbed the lead just past the quarter, strolled through the middle half, and stayed afloat all the way home with Hesincontrolās surge falling a head short. Sometime Somewhere (MacDonald) finished third.

Moreau also trains Captain Video, a five-year-old stallion with 17 wins in 75 career starts. Ecurie CSL and Gaston Bibeau own the earner of $202,545. The horse won a preliminary leg of the Pop-Up Series.
