Two-year-old star Fern Hill General improved his career record to six-for-six as he cruised to victory in the Nova Scotia Stake for freshman pacing males on Saturday at Northside Downs.

The Malicious gelding was third-fastest as the gate pulled away and worked along the outside through the :29 first quarter mile to acquire the lead. He raced unhurried through :58.4 and 1:29.1 middle splits with regular driver Brodie Macphee motionless in the bike, but pocket-sitter Rollwithhottytoddy (Ryan Campbell) prompted action as he pulled out on the final turn.
Rollwithhottytoddy made a slight indent in the lead, but he was no danger to Fern Hill General, who sailed to the finish line for the 1:58.3 victory.
Rollwithhottytoddy was two and a half lengths behind at the wire. Saulsbrook Raptor (Jason Hughes) claimed the show spot.
