Docsphillycheese (Betterthancheddar) added another victory to his successful sophomore campaign in a hard-fought conditioned harness racing contest at Grand River Raceway on Friday (Sep. 2).
Garrett Rooney glued the colt to the pylons and nailed down the three-hole as Ifudontchewbigred (Lorne House) pushed on to the front on the first turn. The latter cut the quarter in :27.4 and paced to the midway point in :57.1.
Docsphillycheese launched first-over while in front of the grandstand and stared down the leader to three-quarters in 1:26.1. Rooney put the colt to a full drive as they straightened for home, and Docsphillycheese surged to victory in 1:56.1.
A neck separated he and Ifudontchewbigred at the line. Dreamfair Sunshine closed gamely for third.

The win was Docsphillycheeseās fifth in his past six starts. Britt Kennedy of Ingersoll trains the colt she co-owns and co-bred with Moneyclip Racing of Morpeth.
Brett MacDonaldās triple topped the dayās driving performances.
Two divisions of the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots fifth leg for three-year-old trotting fillies highlight the upcoming Wednesday, Sep. 7 card at Grand River Raceway. It will begin at 6:30 p.m. EDT.
