SUMMERSIDE, PE – First Glance (Thinking Out Loud) powered to the lead and never looked back in the Tuesday evening featured harness racing event at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
The roan gelding cleared to the lead past the 28 second opening quarter and led through splits of 56.4 and 1:25.3 to close out the mile in 1:53.4 for driver Jason Hughes, trainer Jennifer Doyle and owner Danny Birt of Earnscliffe. Brookdale Johnny (Driven by Paul Langille) came first-over to finish three-quarters-of-a-length back in second while race favourite Howmac Charmer (Corey MacPherson) was third.
Hughes had the hot hands on the evening with a driving triple completed aboard Love That Miramont (Sportswriter) (1:59.4) in race 3 for trainer Ashley MacDonald and Silver Spirit (Varadero Hanover) (1:57.2) for trainer Devon Wallace in the race 11 finale.
Get Home Terry (Stonebridge Terror) provided the upset of the evening in race 6 as driver Kenny Murphy scooted him up the passing lane to win at 25-1 odds for co-owner and trainer Edgar Stewart and co-owner Tyler MacDonald of Ellerslie.
Live racing continues Thursday evening at 6 P.M. at Red Shores Charlottetown.
