Watch Me Dance (Ameripan Gigolo) broke her 19-month losing streak and gave her owner Michael Pattison his first win as a harness racing trainer of record since 2010 at Georgian Downs on Saturday (Jun. 24).
The mare saved ground in fourth through the first three quarters but was behind a wall of horses turning for home. Anthony Haughan found her a split to go three-wide as a rival tired, and she surged to the lead while beating home fellow closer Mean Irene to win in 1:58.3.
WATCH ME DANCE REPLAY
Watch Me Danceās most recent win came on Oct. 18, 2021. Before the win, she had hit the board twice in the past two seasons. Pattisonās prior win was on Nov. 4, 2010 with Shadow Lugia; it was also that stallionās only career win in 38 starts. Pattison has owned and trained Watch Me Dance since July 2022. The mare is now 10-for-81 lifetime with $94,021 in earnings. Pattison made 81 starts between training wins.
Georgian Downs will continue racing on Sunday, Jun. 25 at 6:00 p.m. EDT.
