The Vicar (Artspeak) remained perfect since his move to Ontario with a third straight harness racing victory on Tuesday (Jul. 2) at Georgian Downs.
He sat fourth in the six-horse field until Tyler Moore pulled him off the pylons approaching the final turn. The gelding made progress rounding the bend and rolled to the lead coming down the stretch, pulling clear by a length-and-a-quarter to win in 1:53.1. Harborlite Ambrose (Austin Sorrie) was the only horse in range at the wire, followed by Jmr Speak Away (Colin Kelly).
THE VICAR REPLAY
The Vicar is now seven-for-10 lifetime for owner GLB Stable of Lakeview. He moved to Ontario in mid-June and has won all three starts since. Moore trains the sophomore, who has now earned $24,682.
Also on the card, two-year-old Belmont Blazer (Big Jim) went wire-to-wire for his first career victory. Coming off a place finish on debut, he proved three-quarters-of-a-length to best in 1:58 for driver Travis Cullen. Jodie Cullen trains the freshman for Travis Cullen, who owns and bred the gelding.
BELMONT BLAZER REPLAY
The next card at Georgian Downs is set for Saturday, Jul. 6 with a 7:15 p.m. EDT start.
