Western Summit (Vertical Horizon) won her fourth race in a row at Fraser Downs Thursday (Mar. 7) during an eight-harness racing dash card.
With $10,000 up for grabs in prize money, a field of seven lined up for the Filly & Mare Preferred in the sixth race. Western Summit came from post two and tried jumping right to the lead. There was a brief battle for the front end between Western Summit, Salary (Blaine Chappel) and Hotpieceoface (John Abbott). After winning the battle to the front, she paced an opening quarter of 27.2. She kept the lead and posted fractions of 58.0 and 1:26.2. She remained untested and won easily by a length. She went 29.0 in the last quarter and the final time was 1:55.2.
