Harness racing returns to British Columbia on Thursday (Sep. 14) for the first of 28 days at Fraser Downs.
Action at the five-eights oval in Surrey, British Columbia, concluded the spring meet on May 5, and after a long summer, it’s time to get things going once again.
Fans won’t have to wait very long for stake season to kick off as the first leg of the B.C. Bred Stakes kick-off. Both the colt and filly will be featured on Thursday evening. Two-year-olds have until Sep. 28 to prepare for their turn to get things going in leg one.
Every leg will go for $15,000 if multiple divisions are required. The purse will remain at $20,000 if only one split is needed. The finals for both ages have $100,000 of prize money up for grabs. The two-year-old finals are slated for Oct. 26, while the three-year-olds will do battle on Nov. 24.
Live racing at Fraser Downs is on Thursdays and Fridays until Dec. 15. Post time for the opening night of racing is 7:00 p.m. PDT. Friday dates start at 6:00 p.m. PDT until they change to 7:00 p.m. PDT on Oct. 27.
