Harness racing driver James MacDonald added another six victories to his nation-leading tally on the Friday (Nov. 3) card at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
MacDonald kicked off the night with a natural grand slam. He gave Godiva Shadow Girl (Shadow Play) a victory in the fillyās return to Ontario in the opener, pushing her to the front in the third quarter en route to a 1:54.3 win.
GODIVA SHADOW GIRL REPLAY
In races two through four, the reinsman piloted Angostura Hanover (Betting Line, 1:53.3), Duchenne (Betting Line, 1:54.1), and Mae Lose Control (Control The Moment, 1:55) to victory. The latter took a new career-best in the mile.
ANGOSTURA HANOVER REPLAY
MacDonald was back in the winnerās circle after race six. He took an early lead with Shes Got It All (Bettors Delight), let Velvet Stinger (Sylvain Filion) by on the backstretch, then hunted the favourite down from the pocket in the stretch to score in 1:53.
SHES GOT IT ALL REPLAY
The Ideal Huntress (Huntsville) was the vehicle to MacDonaldās final win of the evening. The mare moved first-over approaching the final turn, and reached up in late-stretch to take the victory in 1:55.3.
THE IDEAL HUNTRESS REPLAY
MacDonald has now won 358 races on the season from 1,743 drives. He leads the national driversā standings by five tallies over Tyler Borth, who won once on the night. MacDonald is also on top of the table at Woodbine Mohawk Park with a lead of more than 80.
Woodbine Mohawk Park will conclude its race week on Saturday (Nov. 4) with an 11-race program featuring a $36,000 Preferred Pace.
