MISSISSAUGA, Ont., Jan. 2, 2024 — Standardbred Canada is pleased to declare that the Honourable Dennis King, Premier of Prince Edward Island, has been chosen as the distinguished harness racing recipient of the 2023 Cam Fella Award. This esteemed accolade will be bestowed upon Premier King at the renowned 35th O’Brien Awards Black Tie Gala, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024. The event is set to take place at the Delta by Marriott Prince Edward in Charlottetown, P.E.I.

The Cam Fella Award, named in tribute to the legendary Standardbred horse Cam Fella, is presented to individuals who exhibit exceptional and recent contributions to the Canadian harness racing sector. This honour reflects Premier King’s profound impact on Standardbred horse racing, solidifying his place as a pivotal figure in the industry.

Born and raised in P.E.I., Dennis King developed a deep-rooted passion for harness racing from an early age.
