CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The first leg of the Steven and Joe MacRae Memorial Pacing Series will headline a baker’s dozen on Saturday afternoon at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The 13-dash card has a 12:30 P.M., opening post time with four divisions of the MacRae Memorial for non-winners of $6,000 in 2024.
Sagali is favoured in the first division for trainer Phil Kelly and owners The Sagali Six Stable of Charlottetown. Mark Bradley drives from post 4 against chief rivals Watch Her Go (To be driven by Marc Campbell) and Brookdale Shelley with rail control with freshly announced O’Brien Award of Horsemanship nominee Paul Langille in the bike.
The second $3,500 MacRae Memorial leg in race 4 for pacing Fillies and Mares has Southern Heart (Corey MacPherson) the top selections for trainer Ron Matheson over Red Dirt Diamond (Brett Clow) and Elm Grove Nanci (Ken Murphy).
The first MacRae Memorial division for pacing Horses and Geldings in race 7 will see Poplar Artie (Campbell) selected to win with post 1 over Georges Credit (Bradley) and Midnight MacNeill (Ken Murphy).
West Coast Kid (Bradley) gets top call in the other $3,500 MacRae Memorial division for males in race 9 for trainer Kelly. His opponents includes Dylan Sam (Myles Heffernan Sr.) and Power Of Four (Campbell).
The top pace of the day for Fillies and Mares hits the track in race 12 for $3,600 with JM Sportsfan (Steven Shepherd) off the rail for trainer Harold Shepherd who co-owns with Angus Birt, Maurice McCabe and the Estate of Wayne MacPherson. Her rivals include Tobins Brownie (Marc Campbell), Rosetown Mary (Corey MacPherson), Acefortyfour Dome (Jason Hughes) and Shake N Blake (David Dowling).
The Post Time Picks select Shake N Blake to win from post 5 for trainer Jennifer Doyle.
“Shake N Blake staged a late rally but couldn’t reel in Sugar Bowl last week. She has a win and two seconds in her last three starts at this level and looks like she has the fresh legs so I’m putting her on top.”

Preferred Grudge Match Resumes Sunday
CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The top horses to strap on hopples in Eastern Canada will go bridle-to-bridle again in the Preferred Pace on Sunday afternoon at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The 12-dash Sunday presentation starts off at 12:30 P.M., as Bee Two Bee (To be driven by Jason Hughes) looks for his third straight triumph in the $4,500 Preferred Pace for trainer Ashley Gamester and owners Donald MacRae and Blair MacLauchlan with post 5.
High Voltage Deo (Corey MacPherson) has been knocking at the door every week with a win, a second and a third in this class his last three starts for trainer Brendan Curran. The Sweet Lou four-year-old has drawn post 4 on Sunday.
Roll Em is the morning line favourite for driver Marc Campbell and trainer Brent Campbell with post 3 after a runner-up finish to Bee Two Bee last time out.
Blood Money (Gilles Barrieau) has rail control from the Ron Matheson barn while Rollwithhottytoddy (Myles Heffernan Sr.) leaves from post 2 for trainer Trevor Hicken.
The Post Time Picks go with High Voltage Deo to win.

Race 7 of the afternoon hosts the $3,650 back-up class with Tony Too Tall (Heffernan Sr.) the morning line favourite for trainer Hicken and owner Perry Burke of Quebec. His foes include the return of former Governor’s Plate champion No Plan Intended (David Dowling) from post 3 for trainer Jennifer Doyle.
