CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Half Cut and driver Mark Bradley used first over tactics en route to the winner's circle in the Thursday evening Uncle Pat McWade Memorial Pace at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The $2,350 preferred 2 pace saw Jackson K Down (Driven by Corey MacPherson) take the early lead and carve out fractions of 27.2, 57.1 and 1:26.4 while race favourite Nogreatmischief (Walter Cheverie) sat in the pocket spot.
Half Cut advanced first over for Bradley to hit the lead in the final quarter and keep going to win by four lengths in 1:55.1. Nogreatmischief was second with Jackson K Down third. Tom Weatherbie trains the winning horse for owners Kyle Gardiner and Mike Currie of Cardigan, Joseph Gardiner of Mount Stewart and Jerry MacKinnon of St. Peter's Bay.
Trainer Bo Ford and driver Marc Campbell teamed up for three winners on the program. The duo captured the Open Trot with Freddie in 1:58.4, along with overnight scores with Nikes Cowgirl in 1:56.1 and Diduseethat in 1:58.3.
