Charlottetown, PE – It was a career day for Corey MacPherson. The young harness racing driver posted six winners during a 16 dash program Saturday at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
MacPherson started the afternoon taking the first three races with Roscoes Child, Hurricane Bill and trotter Diamond Mine. His grand-slam came with Adam Merner's trainee Likely To Win.
MacPherson teamed with the Trevor Hicken stable to cap off his super Saturday with victories aboard Idealic Life and the afternoon feature event with All Turain.
All Turain was able to track down fraction setter Forever Paradise (Cheverie) in deep stretch to win the top class in 1:58.1. Mach Wheel (Darren Crowe) rallied late to complete the triactor. All Turain, owned by Lee Hicken, Charlottetown, PE, has four victories from his last five starts.
Walter Cheverie had a driving triple with top honours going to Caliban Haniover in the open trot, Putnam's Snap and his own Bowyer Hanover.
Mike McGuigan recorded a driving double while Jason Hughes made a trip to victory lane to remain one win behind leader Marc Campbell in the Charlottetown driver standings.
Earl Watts posted a training double which included the fastest mile of the day of 1:57.2 with Sinners in Heaven for Gary Chappell and the ownership group of Windemere Farms, North Wiltshire, PE, Lana Murphy – River Valley Management, Quispamsis, NB.
