A month removed from his last top-level victory, Gentry Seelster (Mach Three) returned to the winner’s circle after taking the Winners-Over at Northside Downs on Saturday (Jul. 16).
Red Rum She Wrote (Angus Bates) stepped to an early lead before Gentry Seelster muscled by her at the quarter in :27.4. The new leader then faced pressure from Mando Fun (Adam Lynk) on the trip to the half in :57.4 and shrugged off that rival just past three-quarters in 1:27.4.
Pezzarello urged Gentry Seelster around the final turn and got the stallion home in 1:58 ahead of the closing Runaway Mystery (Harold Leblanc Jr.), who nipped Red Rum She Wrote for place.
The winner paid $4.10.
