Gettin Intuit (Sportswriter) journeyed south to Flamboro Downs on Wednesday (Oct. 12) and landed a rousing harness racing victory for his third win in his past five starts.
Brett MacDonald held the gelding in fourth behind a contested pace that produced :27.2 and :56 first-half fractions. Gettin Intuit rolled first-up just after the midway point and sailed past leader Night Out (Austin Sorrie) at three-quarters in 1:26.2.
With the tired pacesetters in his rearview mirror, Gettin Intuit expanded his cushion to five-and-a-half lengths by the finish in 1:56.4.
Rocknrolls Shadow (Travis Cullen) motored home for place. Night Out held third.
GETTIN INTUIT REPLAY
Gettin Intuit is now three-for-12 lifetime. He made one start at two last year and seven more in 2022 before taking his first win on Aug. 2. He then doubled on Sep. 6, with sickness forcing a scratch in between, and missed cheques in two straight starts before dropping into the Flamboro conditioned ranks for Wednesday’s win. Trainer Richard Moreau is responsible for the form turnaround; he conditions the gelding for owners Daniel and Jean-Cristophe Plouffe of Bromont.
MacDonald steered a pair of additional winners on the evening, matching Cullen’s total haul of three at the lines.
Flamboro Downs will continue racing at 6:35 p.m. EDT on Thursday, Oct. 13.
