Harness Analyst – Western Fair 27th March

We have a harness racing Carryoverpalooza at The Raceway at Western Fair in London, Ontario tonight (March 27). Both the early Pick 5 that starts in Race 1, and the early Pick 4, that starts in Race 2, have healthy carryovers.

The Pick 5 starts with more than $21,000 in the pot and the Pick 4 has a carryover of more than $10,000. Both also have low takeouts and provide great opportunities of a nice score. Many of these races look very competitive which adds to the appeal of these wagers tonight. Here is how I will play:

Race 1: 1,2,6

(1) THE LOAN RANGER is sure to use his speed to try to control this race starting from the rail, and he is hard to leave out in the opening leg of this Pick 5.

(2) SO STRANGE was no match for the horse that is morning line favorite in Race 4 tonight, but he is another that will get critical position leaving the gate here.

(6) ABOUT A BOY faced tougher at Flamboro Downs and he is worth using here at what should be a square price.

Race 2: 1,2,3,5,6

I am going to be that guy and tempt the wagering gods here by using all but one of them, but the #4 is really the only one I don’t see with a legitimate shot in this wide-open race.

Race 3: 4,5,7

(4) HEAVY DUDE E raced better in his past two starts and he could add some value to these carryover wagers.

(5) SCENE A MAGICIAN is the class of this field, and he will likely be singled on many tickets. He is a must-use in this field.

(7) THE GREAT RESET fits well here and he has the speed to get away well from the widest post.

Race 4: 8

(8) EXCAVATOR, who crushed similar last week, will be my single on these tickets. He should get a good start following the #1 and make another first up assault.

Race 5: 1,5,8

(1) SPUN FROM MAGIC drops, gets back on a seven-day rotation, and draws best. He should show big speed here.

(5) MEMO has been facing much tougher than these and he is an obvious player here.

Race 1: 20-Cent Pick 5: 126/12356/457/8/15 = $18

Race 2: 20-Cent Pick 4 12356/457/8/15 = $6

I will play some extra tickets singling both (5) SCENE A MAGICIAN in Race 2 and (5) MEMO in Race 5.
