Harness News Update: Picks & Analysis for Century Downs Aug. 2nd

A 11-dash card full of harness racing action is set for Friday (Aug. 2) at Century Downs. The notable wagers are the Pick 5, which kicks off the card in race one and the $1 minimum Pick 4 which starts in the eighth.

The feature race is a $11,000 Fillies & Mares Claiming conditional in the sixth race. Only a field of five aged mares drew in but the race is certainly no slam dunk for any of the competitors.

Century Mach (Jk Royal Flush) is dropping from the Fillies & Mares Preferred. She hasn’t been finding much success in the top class but has been collecting some cheques along the way. Her last win was in the same class she drew into on Friday. Century Mach won in 1:54.2 which is her fastest win of the year.

She has also won three times this year. The Serge Masse-trained mare is also the highest lifetime earner in the field at $224,143. It will be her 114thcareer start on Friday and she draws the rail.

CENTURY MACH REPLAY 

Roulette Hanover (All Bets Off) is another one who can find the winner’s circle any day but can also wind up at the back of the pack. She has scratched in two of her last three scheduled appearances. However, she does win only a couple of starts again and won in 1:56.3. Her fastest win of the year was 1:55.1 in Century Mile. Roulette Hanover has won three times this year and seven in her entire career.

ROULETTE HANOVER REPLAY 

The Vertical Horizon mare Metaki has won two of her last three starts. The fastest of her most recent two wins was 1:55.2 which is also the quickest of the year. Her most recent win was in 1:56.4 last weekend. In 12 starts this year she has finished in the top two 50% of the time. Metaki is the second-highest lifetime earner in the field at $161,097 over 71 career starts.
