Mighty Mary (Hes Watching) produced a career-best harness racing effort to remain undefeated in three starts on the season at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Wednesday (Apr. 10).

The mare went wire-to-wire from post five for Dan Clements, with her seven opponents content to give her things her way. Mighty Mary set fractions of :28.2, :58.3, and 1:27.3 before Dinner And Dancing (Travis Henry) attacked from the pocket. The challenger began to close coming down the stretch, but Mighty Mary kept her at bay by a quarter-length as she sealed the victory in 1:56.4. Rose Ricky (Garrett Rooney) was well back in third.

MIGHTY MARY REPLAY

Jason Libby trains Mighty Mary, a four-year-old with six wins from 19 career starts. The mare, owned by Gary and Joyce Gonyou of St. Thomas, has earned $38,418. She has won all three starts this year racing in mid-level claimers at The Raceway.

Also on the card, three-year-old Sauble Lila (State Treasurer) improved her record to four-for six while lowering her speed badge by more than a second. She prevailed off a first-over march for Jason Ryan in 1:57.2, drawing away by three lengths in the stretch. Otis Hall trains the filly for Sauble Hill Farms of Tara and Nasussito Racing of Ayr.

SAUBLE LILA REPLAY

Racing continues at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Friday, Apr. 12 at 5:50 p.m. EDT.
