The Hippodrome 3R will begin live harness racing on Friday’s starting tomorrow (June 9) with a nine-race card beginning at 4:00 pm.
The track will now be open two days a week, Friday and Sunday’s (12:00 noon) through the summer months.
To kick off the first Friday twilight program, the race office at H3R has scheduled a Preferred Pace headlined by Manhattan Joe (Up The Credit) seeking his fourth straight win.
The 7th race feature spots Flamboro Downs invader Manhattan Joe starting from post seven for H3R’s leading driver Pascal Berube. The five-year-old gelding is now trained by Marc-Andre Simoneau. In his three-race winning streak, Manhattan Joe had led from start to finish, winning his last two starts in identical time of 1:54.3.
Another of the three return winners in the field is Arrhythmogenic (Betterthancheddar) from post nine for owner- driver Daniel St Pierre. He is coming off a 1:58 score and starting from the rail is Windsun Cheyenne (Cam’s Card Shark), who in his last start was able to take the lead at the quarter and wire the field in 1:57.1.
Also on the card in the 3rd race is a Preferred Trot featuring Frido PV (Muscle Mass), who was second by a nose to Stella Alpha last week in the top trot in 1:59.2. He has won two of his last three starts for driver Jonathan Lachance and starts from post five.
Other contenders include Morally Flexible (post 6) for driver Stephane Brosseau and X O X O (post 1) for driver Jocelyn Gendron.
