The Hippodrome 3R returns with live harness racing action on Friday (Aug. 11) after a mid-season break for the Grand Prix auto races in the town of Trois-Rivieres, Quebec.
The Friday twilight 10-race card begins at 4:00 pm and will feature two $10,000 divisions of the second round of the Future Stars Series for two-year-old trotting fillies and colts.
The fillies are the first on display in the 5th race. The morning line favorite is Kenogami Queen (Wheeling N Dealin) from post three for driver Stephane Brosseau. She was able to lead from start to finish in the opening round, winning for the first time in her young career with a two and three-quarter length triumph in 2:04.3.
Her main competition will be second place finisher Sensi Amnesia (post 2) and JD Beauty (post 1).
The colts and geldings do battle in the 8th race where opening round winner Wild Dream Men (Kadabra) drew the rail for trainer-driver Guy Gagnon.
In his last start Wild Dream Men actually started in the second tier from post nine, ended up being parked first-over and still came on in the stretch to win by three-quarters of a length in 2:05.4 over the sloppy track.
Other contenders include Vol De Banque (post 4), who was second in the opening round, Drinklikehenry (post 7) and Paradise Moni (post 3).
