Monday, August 1st in Woodstock, New Brunswick, a tradition in the provincial harness racing industry will take place on the holiday Monday in the province.
Horse Racing New Brunswick, in partnership with the Woodstock Driving Club and it's generous sponsor's present a six-dash harness racing card at picturesque Connell Park. Post time is slated for a 1:00 P.M start.
In fact, the fan friendly half-mile track will host another card on Friday, August 5th spotlighting the Kelti Burnett Memorial pace for invitational pacers sponsored by Corey Ford in Woodstock and the McCain family.
On Monday, the $1350 featured event will feature the best New Brunswick owned pacing mare in the Maritimes when Ramblinglily makes the trip from Moncton to take on four other rivals in the sixth race.
Saying the five-year-old mare is having a great season would be a huge understatement. Owned by the tandem of Norman Leger and Allan Jones she has six wins in nine outings and took a new lifetime speed badge of 1:54.4 at Summerside, P.E.I.
In her career, raced exclusively in Atlantic Canada, she has forty-two lifetime victories and is closing in on $140,000 lifetime earnings. She will take on Double D Deluxe ( Don Dickison ), Coral Snake ( Luke Armstrong ), City Of The Year ( Dr. Mitchell Downey ) and Momara ( Andrew Bustard ).
