Horse Racing New Brunswick is back in action this Saturday afternoon at Saint John’s Exhibition Park Raceway with a six-dash harness racing card with a scheduled 1:00 P.M start.
Last week’s top-class winner Woodmere Ideal Art will seek his second consecutive win in the day’s featured event which comes up as race five with a purse of $ 1500. Owned by the Ultimate Stable of Greater Lakeburn, N.B the pacer was taken in the 2016 Atlantic Classic Sale at just over $ 15,000 in lifetime earnings.
That was a wise investment as the Sifroi Melanson trainee has won over $80,000 in earnings in the Maritimes, and sports a lifetime mark of 1:54.4 taken over Truro Raceway as a four-year-old.
Robert Laffin will pilot the rugged pacer from post three on Saturday afternoon. He provided the slight upset a week ago in the top-class in a speedy 1:57.2 win. Kate MacNeil’s pacer Thankyouallmyfans will have the rail advantage and comes off a solid second place effort last week to Woodmere Ideal Art.
Blood Money, owned, trained and driven by Dr. Mitchell Downey will look to get back in the win column after a third place effort in the feature last week and will leave from the outside post-four slot. Rounding out the field is the solid pacer K D Overdrive who came off a win last week and moves up to the top-class this week.
K D Overdrive is owned and trained by veteran Steve Mason and will see Kent Beattie in the bike for the first time since 2019. He will score from post two. Little Manny was not entered this week and will sit out.
Both the Summer Handicapping Challenge and the Autumn Gold Series will continue this week, presented by Horse Racing New Brunswick. For all the latest on all things New Brunswick racing, please visit the official website and Facebook pages at the following addresses:
