CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – House Edge Hanover had the last say in Sunday afternoon’s $4,700 Preferred 2 pace at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

HOUSE EDGE HANOVER REPLAY

House Edge Hanover ($3.10) collared morning-line choice Impeccable Shadow in deep stretch to win in 1:54.3 for harness racing driver Gilles Barrieau and trainer Ron Matheson. Sitting fifth early, the Betting Line gelding wheeled off the final turn and surged past the first-over Impeccable Shadow (Paul Langille) and Navalny (Brady Sweet) to score by a neck for owner Everette Hanson of Maugerville, N.B.

Barrieau and Matheson clicked the race previous with The Sports Desk ($2.80), a 1:55.3 coast-to-coast winner.

The day opened with Neptune Seelster ($7.90) threading through late for a 1:56.2 victory in Race 1 for driver Adam Merner and trainer Michael Gallant. Merner doubled up as a trainer-driver in Race 5 as Maintenance Man ($5.00) controlled every step in 1:54.4 from his own stable and Sports Teller ($5.80) was a 1:55 victor in race 10.

Trainer Tammy Collings doubled up with Silver Spirit ($2.30) scoring in 1:55.4 in line to Brady Sweet, and Gascoigne A C ($5.90) landing Race 2 in a sharp 1:55.2 for Marc Campbell, who had three wins on the day.

Campbell also visited the winner’s circle with J K Express ($6.10) who front-ended in 1:57.1 for trainer Jared Perrot while Campbell’s third of the day came in Race 8 when Pauls Crown ($3.00) dug in to win in 1:54.3 for conditioner Stanley Harper.

Live racing continues Tuesday evening at 6 P.M., at Red Shores Summerside.
