Horse Racing New Brunswick will play host to a six-dash harness racing card on Saturday, June 17th at Connell Park in Woodstock, N.B. Post time will be at 1:00 P.M on Saturday featuring leg one of the New Brunswick Breeders stakes that will see two divisions worth $ 13,000 each.
Leading the filly division is the Janice Hubbard owned-trained and bred Nannie Bernice (Artspeak) who was the two-year-old filly champion of the N.B Breeders last season. She will have the advantages of post one, and the services of top catch-driver Todd Trites. She will take on three rivals in the second race of the day.
Nannie Bernice has already won this season in her three-year-old campaign in Prince Edward Island. In her last outing, she was a winner in 1:57.2. She made over $26,000 last year.
In the colt division, New Shooter will be the one to beat, after two straight victories since moving the Rennison Racing stable. He was a $32,000 yearling purchase in the Atlantic Classic sale in 2021.
He’s owned by Brady Doyle and Dan Belliveau and shows a new record two starts back in 1:56 over Truro Raceway.
Top-class of the afternoon for overnight horses features another Rennison trainee with American Risk and catch-driver Todd Trites in the bike. Risky Bizz Group own the pacer who won at Woodstock last week in 2:00 over an off track.
Bettim Again who was a winner over Rideau Carlton Raceway this year in 1:54.1 will also be one to watch in this race from post four. John Davidson will catch-drive for owners Jeff Lilley, Blair Maclauchlan and Ian Donald.
Horse Racing New Brunswick would like to extend gratitude to horsemen and women who will take part in Saturday’s card at Woodstock. They are hoping to be able to livestream this week’s card, and wagering available through H.P.I.
