Ideal Perception (American Ideal) led from the quarter to win the Preferred Handicap Pace at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Monday (Apr. 3).
The harness racing stallion, who notched his first win of the season in a conditioned even on Mar. 16, opted to give-and-go from post two. Anthony Haughan ordered a circling move out of second to take command from Sportsline (Scott Wray) at the quarter in :27.4.
Ideal Perception paced the half in :56.4, and Sportsline and he pulled away by several lengths in the third quarter. They completed it in 1:25.1, and Wray pulled the trigger as they turned for home. Sportsline put the leader into an all-out drive, but Ideal Perception had enough to get home and take the win in 1:54.
Sportsline missed by a half-length. Woodmere Rollnpop (Tyler Borth) finished third.
