Iknowbetter (Betterthancheddar) stayed unbeaten in his third start of the season in a hard-fought harness racing victory at Fraser Downs on Friday (Mar. 29).
The gelding got away second but popped the pocket for Kelly Hoerdt after the quarter in :27.4 to take the lead. The parked-out Nothininmoderation (Scott Knight) brought immediate pressure and sustained the challenge through middle splits of :58.1 and 1:27.4.
Iknowbetter finished off that rival approaching the final turn and neutralized pocket-sitter Thereallkents (Dave Hudon) down the stretch to secure the victory in 1:56.3.
Thereallkents was second by a length-and-three-quarters. Chief Is Boss (Dennis Johnston) was four-and-a-half lengths further back in third.
IKNOWBETTER REPLAY
Iknowbetter is unbeaten through three outings in 2024 and now four-for-eight lifetime. The gelding, owned and trained by Ashley Ederer, was competitive in the Robert Millbank Memorial series last year. The three-year-old has earned $24,300.
The next card at Fraser Downs will take place on Thursday, Apr. 4.
