Ally Baba, from the Illinois sire Class Included and bred in Illinois, won her harness racing debut convincingly at Grand River Raceway on Wednesday (Jul. 19).
The filly, purchased for $11,500 from the Illini Yearling Sale by The Stable, went wire-to-wire. She put up :30.3, 1:02.4, and 1:33.4 panels for Mario Baillargon and showed her superiority by drawing two-and-a-quarter lengths clear. She stopped the clock in 2:03.3, with Dollar Maker (Gino Toscani) second. The Blondy (Scott Young) finished third.

Ally Baba is trained by Baillargeon for The Stable. The filly was foaled in Arcola, Ill. out of the Oakville Stakes-winning mare Ally Hall. She is the 24-year-old mareās 13th foal.
