In High Cotton (Somebeachsomewhere) erased a five-length deficit late in the mile to catch last week’s Fillies and Mares Open winner, Miss Itunes, in the Thursday (Feb. 9) renewal of the harness racing class at Fraser Downs.
Dave Hudon sat In High Cotton down in fifth while Miss Itunes (Scott Knight) cruised on the lead. In High Cotton moved to the outside after the half and began passing foes as the leader extended her advantage. Miss Itunes entered the stretch with a five-length lead, but In High Cotton unfurled her wings and charged to get up by a head in 1:53.4 at 10-1 odds. Moosette (Scott Knight) also closed and was a half-length short in third.
