CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Irish Ray (Muscle Through It) remains undefeated during a trotting Thursday featuring the P.E.I. Colt Stakes at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The lone P.E.I. Colt Stakes two-year-old trotting colt division carried a $9,060 purse and Irish Ray dominated the entire event to win in 2:01.4 for trainer-driver Marc Campbell and owner Three Wisemen Stable of Kingston. He registered his seventh lifetime win from as many starts as he bested Windemeregotmuscle (Driven by Jason Hughes) and My Secret Ability (Kenny Arsenault).
IRISH RAY REPLAY
Along For The Ride (Merchandiser) won her $7,500 P.E.I. Colt Stakes three-year-old filly trot division in 2:02.2 for driver Ambyr Campbell, trainer Brian MacPhee and owner Ambrose Laybolt of Morell.
ALONG FOR THE RIDE REPLAY
The $7,500 sophomore filly trot in race 1 saw Baskin Robin (Tad The Stud) break her maiden with Ken Murphy in the bike for trainer John Clarey and owner Mike Clarey of Montague in 2:04.2.
BASKIN ROBIN REPLAY
Up Helly Aa (Armbro Barrister) was the best in the only $7,500 three-year-old trot split winning in 2:00 over stablemate Cadillac (Driven by Clare MacDonald). Ken MacDonald drives the Clare MacDonald trainee for owner Riley Farms Ltd., of Summerside.
UP HELLY AA REPLAY
Top Of Her Trade (Bolt The Duer) won the Race 7 Krown Rustproofing pace by a head in 1:58.1 for trainer-driver David Dowling and owners Matt and David Burke of Stratford.
TOP OF HER TRADE REPLAY
A special non-wagering event two-year-old trotting filly $9,060 P.E.I. Colt Stakes division had Gettin Salty (Muscle Through It) prevail by two-lengths in 2:02.1 with Corey MacPherson driving for owner-trainer Blayne White of South Pinette.
MUSCLE THROUGH IT REPLAY
Live racing continues at Red Shores Charlottetown with a P.E.I. Colt Stakes pacing doubleheader on Saturday. The two-year-old colts and fillies dominate the afternoon program with a 12:30 P.M. start time with the three-year-olds headlining the night card getting underway at 6:30 P.M. Red Shores Summerside presents a Monday program at 6pm.
