CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Unhurried at the start, Glider Man trotted away with the Thursday evening harness racing feature at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The Thursday evening top trot carried a $2,500 purse with Glider Man and driver Kenny Arsenault settling away fourth at the start while Missionoftheheart (Driven by David Dowling) set the tempo. Missionoftheheart cut out splits of 29.2 and 1:00.2 on the rain soaked oval before Glider Man started his first over attack to grab the lead at the 1:31 three-quarters and cruised home in 29.4 to win by three-lengths in 2:00.4.
Hop Up (Corey MacPherson) finished second with Star Photo (Jason Hughes) third. Jennifer Doyle co-owns and trains Glider Man for co-owner and fellow Earnescliffe resident Danny Birt.
Jason Hughes hit a career milestone on the evening, winning two races to hit the 1,500 win plateau in the race bike. Hughes scored the career win in race 8 with the Stephen Quinn trained Watch Me Dance in 1:59.1.
