Casimir Richie P (Astronomical) reached the winner’s circle for the first time in 16 months with a dominant harness racing performance at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Wednesday (Jan. 29).

Samuel Fillion directed the stallion to the engine and rated him to :29.1 and 1:00.2 panels in the opening half. Arukidinme Cabbie (Garrett Rooney) moved up first-over at the midway point to contest the leader and trudged along at his flank through three-quarters in 1:29.3.
Casimir Richie P put him away on the final turn and streaked away from the rest, powering home to win by four-and-a-quarter lengths in 2:00.
Mr Cheeseman (Lorne House) finished second over Belechick (Don Rankin).

Casimir Richie P, trained by Ben Hollingsworth, is now 37-for-157 lifetime. He spent nearly a year on the shelf from October 2023 to December 2024. Wednesday’s win was his first time hitting board since his return. Michael Goldberg of Toronto owns the 10-year-old, who has now earned $478,778.
Austin Sorrie won three of the night’s 10 races to take the lead in the drivers’ standings from Samuel Fillion.
