Majestic Virgin (Always A Virgin) won her third straight race at Kawartha Downs on Friday (Jun. 14) to move her record to eight-for-11 this harness racing season.
She was pocketed by Littlebearcat (Loic Gueriel) going to the first station in :26.4 but circled her to take the lead in the second quarter. Majestic Virgin reached the half in :57.3 for Samuel Fillion and raced with the first-over Fire Shine (Nick Boyd) on the approach to three-quarters in 1:28.1. Fire Shine maintained the pressure into the stretch but had no extra, and Majestic Virgin reached home a winner in 1:57.1. Fire Shine was second over Littlebearcat.

Majestic Virgin is four-for-five at Kawartha Downs this season and has picked up eight victories in 11 starts overall. The Tom Riley-trained mare has won 25 of her 125 lifetime outings and has earned $299,032.
Also on the card, Brian Peterson took his first training win since 2018. Torston (Archangel), whom he bred and owns, went wire-to-wire in a tough effort to break his maiden in 2:01.2 Peterson returned to training with Torston last year. The trainerās last win came in September 2018 with Amoureuse Hanover.
