After breaking in a Gold last time, Kinnder Hotblood (Kadabra) won her fourth race in six starts this harness racing season on Thursday (Jun. 6) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

James MacDonald sent the filly to the top from fourth on the backstretch, reaching the engine at the halfway marker. Muscone (Travis Cullen) put her under pressure coming around the homeward turn, but Kinnder Hotblood turned her away and held off a group of closers down the stretch to score in 1:54.4. Dealers Delite (Jody Jamieson) finished second after sitting the pocket. Her Currency (Bob McClure) was third.

KINNDER HOTBLOOD REPLAY

Kinnder Hotblood is four-for-six on the season with a victory in the Ontario-sired Spring Series Final. The Matt Bax-trained filly suffered breaking issues last year but has only failed to trot the mile once in 2024 — in her Ontario Sires Stakes Gold try on May 27. Her career record is now five wins from 12 starts and $67,463 in earnings. Bax Stable of Campbellville, David Hudson of Dallas, and Gaelic Stable 2 and The Cavalier Stable of Sharon own the three-year-old.

Also on the card, Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots champion Salem Seelster (Muscle Mass) took his first win as a three-year-old. The gelding got up by a head over Musical Ride (Sylvain Filion) for the 1:55.1 victory for driver Louis-Philippe Roy, trainer Luc Blais, and owner Determination.

SALEM SEELSTER REPLAY

The sophomore won his Grassroots final last year but also struggled to keep flat in many of his starts. He has tallied four wins and $71,750 in earnings.

Trainer Gregg McNair won three of the night’s races.

The next card at Woodbine Mohawk Park features eliminations for the Goodtimes and Roses Are Red. First post is set for 7:10 p.m. EDT.
