The Winners-Over at Northside Downs came down to a big harness racing battle at the front on Saturday (May 20), and Kiss Me Im Irish (Big Jim) produced the best late pace to come out on top.
Kiss Me Im Irish, driven by Ryan Campbell, snagged the first lead from post one and dueled with Southwind Ricardo (Brett Leblanc) going through the second turn. The challenger got by as they hit the half in :58, but Kiss My Im Irish maintained her foothold at the pylons.
Southwind Ricardo plugged away, still at the leaderās bridle as they raced through three-quarters in 1:27.2, but dropped back going into the final turn. Kiss Me Im Irish maintained a two-length advantage entering the stretch and finished strongly to take the victory in 1:58.
Soutwind Ricardo continued to fight home and finished second. A Better Man (John Kennedy) was third.
