The Dresden Raceway meet ended on Monday (Aug. 8) with harness racing trainer Melissa Lamoureux taking both divisions of the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots third leg for two-year-old pacing fillies.
Tamara Hanover (Artspeak, Dan Clements) cut the mile in the first division, coming home a 1:59.2 debut winner. Raffle Winner (Garrett Rooney) tested her down the stretch but was denied by a length-and-a-half. Halva Hanover (Donny Rankin Jr.) finished third.

Tamara Hanover, a $24,000 Harrisburg purchase, was 13-1 in her career-opening victory. The filly is out of Transfer Hanover (Cams Card Shark), who has produced nine winners from 11 starters and a total of $717,164 in earnings. 1187422 Ontario Inc. owns Tamara Hanover.
Tribal Dancer (Sunshine Beach, Anthony Haughan) went back-to-back in the Grassroots as she won the second division by four lengths in 1:58.3. Idyllic Delight (Rankin) was second-best. Shutupanddrive (Clements) took show.

The win also gave a Grassroots double to owner 1187422 Ontario Inc., which bred the filly. Sheās out of the Camluck mare That Day, a producer of 14 winners in 14 starters and $1.5 million in earnings. Tribal Dancer is now two-for-five lifetime with $33,570 in earnings.
Robert Doyle, winner of the meetās training title, and Sassenach (Betterthancheddar) were the last to visit the winnerās circle for the season. They won the last race from post eight at 11-1 in 2:00.4. Doyle sent out eight winners at Dresden this year.
Rooney was the meetās top driver with 23 victories. Andy Moore finished second with 15 wins, and a closing day triple by Clements brought him to 14 on the meet.
