Like Chaos (Lookslikeachpndale) went back-to-back in City of London Series harness racing prelims and made it a combined 24-and-a-half-length margin of victory with another huge win in the second leg for male trotters on Friday (May 19) at The Raceway at the Western Fair District.
This week, the gelding marched right to the front but was still in touching distance of the field going through three-quarters. But he began to stride away for Bruce Richardson on the final turn and powered home to win by 11-and-a-quarter lengths in 1:57.4. Sunglassesatnight (Scott Coulter) was promoted to second after finishing lapped-on behind Dealin Duble (Tyler Borth), who was off-stride at the wire.
LIKE CHAOS REPLAY
Like Chaos is now six-for-10 this year after a winless rookie season.Ā He won the Ontario-sired Spring Series final in April and has now earned $68,000 in 18 lifetime outings. Richardson trains the gelding and shares ownership with Joseph Coffey of Orangeville.
The other second-leg dash of the day, for trotting fillies and mares, was much closer; April Duford (Il Sogno Dream, Borth) eclipsed Cash Deals (Mario Baillargeon) in the final strides to win by a head in 1:59.4. Savannahs Dream (Richardson) finished third.
APRIL DUFORD
The result swapped the placings of the first leg, which Cash Deals won over April Duford. The latter has won five times in 12 outings in her debut year and has banked $23,400. Ashley Duford trains Dennis Dufordās homebred three-year-old.
The preliminary rounds are now complete, and the stage is set for the $20,000 finals on May 26 as part of the Camluck Classic undercard.
The Raceway at the Western Fair District will begin its final week of the meet on Monday, May 22 at 5:50 p.m. EDT.
