The Bulldog Hanover colt Saulsbrook Big Dog topped day two and the overall London Classic Yearling Sale as it concluded today (Oct. 16) with hip numbers 131-262 passing through the ring at The Agriplex at Western Fair District.

Jack Darling shelled out $150,000 for a premier son of his Bulldog Hanover, Saulsbrook Big Dog (Hip #156), for the highest price of day two and the overall sale topper at the London Classic Yearling Sale on Wednesday (Oct. 16).
Saulsbrook Big Dog, consigned by Princeton Farms, is a half-brother to Saulsbrook Victor, who took a mark of 1:48.1 this year and is a contender at Canada’s top overnight level. He is out of the Real Artist mare Atlanta Girl, who has produced seven winners in nine ready-to-race foals and more than $1.5 million in total progeny earnings.
It was a big day for Bulldog Hanover, whose stock fetched relatively low prices on day one. Century Montana (Hip #135), out of the Somebeachsomewhere mare Mary Bits, fetched $80,000. Immediately before Saulsbrook Big Dog topped the sale, Bulldog Hanover filly Ambience Seelster (Hip #155) sold for $66,000 to Dr. Ian Moore.
Muscle Mass produced three of the day’s seven six-digit purchases. Hp Fashionista (Hip #208) was the highest-priced trotting yearling of the sale as she sold for $135,000 to Benoit Baillargeon. The filly, sold by Erinwood Equine, is a half-sister to Ontario Sires Stakes Gold winner Hp Extra Ice out of Fashion Goddess. The very next hip number was $110,000 purchase Th Feel My Mass (Hip #209), another offspring of this season’s leading Ontario Sires Stakes sire. Millar Farms bought the son of Ohio Sires Stakes leg-winning mare Invincible As. Js Iamthatspecial (Hip #235), a full sister to multiple Ontario Sires Stakes Gold winner Imextraspecial, completed the sire’s six-digit trio. Keith Coulter bought the filly from consignor Twinbrook Farms for $100,000.
Buyers continued to rate Cattlewash stock highly on day two. Century Merlot (Hip #140), a half-sister to Ontario Sires Stakes Gold winner Betalady out of the Camluck mare Lady Jake, went for $110,000 to Douglas Paul. She was sold by Century Springs Farm. Mimosa Seelster (Hip #158), out of unraced dam Mellow Yellow, went for $100,000 from Seelster Farms to John Lamers.
Star freshman sire Green Manalishi produced the other six-digit buy in Hp Imagine (Hip #173), whom Marcel Barrieau bought for $110,000 from Erinwood Equine. The striking filly is out of the Promising Catch mare Canaco Runner, a Quebec champion on the track with five winning offspring.
Muscle Mass‘s strong day two helped him secure the highest average price among sires. His 19 offspring brought an average of $53,556 across two days. The runners-up were Green Manalishi and Wheeling N Dealin, who both averaged about $40,500. The former had 29 of his progeny pass through the ring, the most of any sire. The latter had four before bidders, and two went for more than $60,000.
Bulldog Hanover usurped siring powerhouse Bettors Delight on day two to be the pacing sire with the highest price per yearling. Bulldog Hanover’s three big sales, while having none sell under $20,000, landed him an average of $43,083. Progeny of Bettors Delights averaged $40,000.

12:07pm: The Bulldog Hanover colt Bulldog B (Hip #131) kicks off day two with a winning bid of $12,000.
12:20pm: A solid start today. $80,000 for the Bulldog Hanover filly Century Montana (Hip #135) out of the Somebeachsomewhere mare Mary Bits. The filly is a half-sister to former Ontario Sires Stakes contender Century Inspector.
12:28pm: It only took eight hip numbers today to break six digits. Century Merlot (Hip #140), by Cattlewash out of the Camluck dam Lady Jake, goes for $110,000. She is a half-sister to Ontario Sires Stakes Gold winner Betalady and sub-1:51 pacer Howies Man. Douglas Paul bought the filly from Century Springs Farm.
12:57pm: New sale topper! The buyers are out for Bulldog Hanover today, and his colt Saulsbrook Big Dog (Hip #150) out of Atlanta Girl brought in $150,000. The colt is a half-brother to Saulsbrook Victor, who took a mark of 1:48.1 last month and has earned more than $500,000. Jack Darling, Bulldog Hanover’s trainer, bought this one from Princeton Farms.
1:05pm: The cash is flying now. Mimosa Seelster (Hip #158), by Cattlewash out of Mellow Yellow, fetches a six-figure price tag of $100,000. The filly is the unraced Always B Miki dam’s second foal.
1:35pm: The beautiful Hp Imagine (Hip #173) by Green Manalishi out of the Promising Catch mare Canaco Runner brings in $110,000. The dam was a Quebec champion on the track and has produced five winners from five eligible to race. Green Manalishi continues to be a big draw.
2:45pm: Hp Fashionista (Hip #208) is just shy of tying the highest price, selling for $135,000. The filly is by Muscle Mass out of Fashion Goddess, a Broadway Hall mare who produced Ontario Sires Stakes Gold winner Hp Extra Ice. Erinwood Equine makes the sale.
2:50pm: Back-to-back six figure yearlings by Muscle Mass as Th Feel My Mass (Hip #209) goes for $110,000. He is out of the Broadway Hall mare Feel Invincible As. She won an Ohio Sires Stakes leg and trotted in 1:56. Th Feel My Mass is her second foal.
3:37pm: Another big sale for another Muscle Mass yearling. Js Iamthatspecial (Hip #235), out of I Am Special, is a full sister to multiple Ontario Sires Stakes Gold winner Imextraspecial, who took a mark of 1:53.3 at three. The filly was sold for $100,000 by Twinbrook Farms for Jesse Gebhardt to Keith Coulter.
4:25pm: That’s a wrap. Hip #262 D A Laughingoutloud (Big Jim-Knee Slapper) closes the sale, going for $21,000. An improved second day with six sold for six figures.

The Cattlewash colt D A Bodacious (Hip #98) topped a tepid day one of the London Classic Yearling Sale on Tuesday, Oct. 15, highlighting a big day for consignors Dean and Ashley Wilson.
D A Bodacious, out of the Dragon Again mare Vivid Shine, was sold to Bill Donovan for $140,000 The colt’s half-brother, Risenshine Seaside, has a mark of 1:48.3 and has earned more than $380,000.
The Wilsons also sold the runner-up, the Muscle Mass colt D A Masstermind (Hip #54), who went to Steve Colvin for $120,000. Out of Pretty Crafty, a producer of more than $1.5 million, he is a full-brother to 1:51.1 trotter Stable Genius and Masstercraft, who has hit the board in five Ontario Sires Stakes Golds and won the Mid-Season Consolation this year.
Stonebridge Wings (Archangel) was the only other horse to sell for six-digits. Marcel Barrigall landed the $115,000 winning bid on the colt, Hip #90. Stonebridge Wings, consigned by Stonebridge Farm, is out of Stonebridge Glider, who has produced three winners from four offspring eligible to race and two with more than $100,000 in earnings.
The day one average was $28,341 on 123 yearlings for a total revenue of $3,486,000. That figure is slightly higher than the overall 2023 average, but day two may bring it down. Trotting colts were the hottest product, selling for an average of $38,737 across 51 yearlings. Two of the three six-figure purchases were male trotters.
Bettors Delight once again proved evergreen, topping all stallions with an average of $51,500 on nine offerings. Perennial Ontario Sires Stakes star producer Muscle Mass brought the highest average among trotting stallions with $43,475 per consignment with 19 passing through the ring. He was closely followed by second-year sire Green Manalishi, who averaged $41,667 across 29 progeny. Freshmen sires Bulldog Hanover and Century Farroh fared less well ā though above average ā with an average of $27,200 for the former and $29,667 for the latter.

12:11pm: A $45,000 winning bid on Hip #1 D A Merlot (Green Manalishi) kicks the sale off. A solid start, exceeding the average price per horse last year.
12:23pm: The first-ever Century Farroh yearling to pass through the ring, Lavender Seelster (Hip #9), brings in $30,000. Century Farroh, a millionaire and Breeders Crown champion, has half of his first crop in this sale.
12:34pm: A big winning bid of $72,000 on Green Manalishi filly Satu Wania (Hip #12). Half-sister to current Ontario Sires Stakes Gold performer Captain Wania. Lots of interest in Green Manalishi stock after his superb freshman crop.
1:13pm: The first Bulldog Hanover offspring to be sold in Canada, Ride The Bull (Hip #32) goes for $22,000. A bargain compared to the Lexington average price of $98,000 for yearlings by the fastest Standardbred ever.
2:07pm: We’ve hit six digits! Hip #54, D A Masstermind (Muscle Mass), garners a $120,000 winning bid. The colt, consigned by Dean and Ashley Wilson, is out of million-dollar producing mare Pretty Crafty. Full brother to Masstercraft, who raced in this year’s Ontario Sires Stakes Super Final and has hit the board in several Golds, and Stable Genius, who took a mark of 1:51.1 at The Meadowlands.
2:44pm: Ontario buyers take a shot on Cattlewash as Hip #71, Justice Seelster, brings in $95,000. Cattlewash, a Somebeachsomewhere stallion who took a mark of 1:46.4, had a fair first crop in New Jersey this season with 14 winners and 25 starters from 38 foals with four $100,000+ earners. He now stands at Tara Hills Stud. Justice Seelster is out of Jan (by Rock N Roll Heaven).
3:29pm: The second six-digit yearling of the sale is the Archangel colt Stonebridge Wings (Hip #90), out of the Yankee Glide mare Stonebridge Glider. Just a few bids off a new high, he went for $115,000. His dam has produced three winners from four ready-to-race offspring with two having earned more than $100,000. A solid result for Stonebridge Farm.
3:44pm: Another sale topper from consigners Dean and Ashley Wilson. Their D A Bodacious (Hip #98), by Cattlewash out of the Dragon Again mare Vivid Shine, commanded a $140,000 winning bid. The colt is a half-brother to five-year-old Risenshine Seaside, who has earned more than $380,000 and took a mark of 1:48.3 at The Meadows. Things are heating up in London.
4:56pm: And that’s that. An uneventful final hour with only a handful going for over $50,000. Hip #130, Allstar Cheezit (Betterthancheddar) sold for $10,000 to close out day one.
