The Raceway at the Western Fair District resumed racing action Tuesday (Oct. 1) for its 2024 fall meet with a 10-race card featuring Prospect Series leg 5B for two-year-old pacing fillies.
Better In Heels (Betterthancheddar) wired the field in the feature, also the season opener. The filly earned her second victory of the season by leading all the way for Austin Sorrie, coming home a length-and-a-half the best over Century Lunar (Samuel Fillion) in 1:58.1. Coueratout Due Lac (Brett MacDonald) was third.
BETTER IN HEELS REPLAY
Better In Heels is two-for-eight in her debut season for trainer Paul Davies, who co-owns the filly with Nicole Davies. The two-year-old has earned $15,600.
Lorne House took the early lead in the driversā standings with an opening night triple. Sorrie and Darryl Thiessen both won two.
The Raceway will operate on a Monday-Tuesday-Friday schedule through the end of the year. The next card is set for Friday, Oct. 4, beginning at 5:50 p.m. EDT.
