London triple for Schneider

Three winners for harness racing trainer Cassidy Schneider on Friday (Jan. 13) put her in joint-first in The Raceway at the Western Fair’s trainers’ standings.

Big Lady J (Big Jim, Travis Henry, 1:58.2), Downstairs Party (Kadabra, Garrett Rooney, 2:00), and Black Betty (Betterthancheddar, Henry, 1:59.1) scored for Schneider. Black Betty’s win was shared, as the seven-year-old mare hit the line in sync with Dan Dar Mal (Scott Coulter) in the seventh race.

Schneider, a nominee for the Future Star Award at the 2022 O’Briens, stepped up her game last year. She trained 87 winners in 621 starts and brought in $632,136 in earnings while finishing second in the trainers’ title race at The Raceway at the Western Fair District. She is so far five-for-27 in 2023.

The track will return to action on Monday, Jan. 16 at 5:50 p.m. EST.
