Looks Like Moni (Muscle Hill) left the Preferred ranks and picked up an upper-level conditioned harness racing win at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Monday (Oct. 14).
James MacDonald sent the gelding forward to grab the lead before the first station in :27. He commenced a give-and-go after longshot Yo Mister (Travis Cullen) pushed on to the lead, re-taking command at the half in :56.1. Looks Like Moni then opened up on the final turn to take a sizable cushion by three-quarters in 1:25.1.
He kept the gas pedal down into the stretch, increasing the advantage to five lengths. Safe Conduct (Chris Christoforou) and Pemberton (Bob McClure) both rallied from the backfield, with the former closing the faster of the two. Safe Conduct made rapid gains late, but Looks Like Moni held on by a neck to complete the victory in 1:54.
Safe Conduct was second with Pemberton third, a length behind the winner.
